Industrial Belt Sanders/Grinders Built for Heavy-Duty Use
Designed and manufactured by Shannon Precision with solid construction, simple adjustments, dependable tracking, and versatile operating positions for metalworking, fabrication, toolmaking, and other demanding shop applications.
Built to Last
Shannon Precision has been solving industrial manufacturing problems since 1984. The Shannon Precision belt sander/grinder was developed to address common shortcomings found in conventional belt machines, including vibration, difficult tracking adjustments, complicated belt changes, excessive noise, and long-term reliability concerns.
The result is a heavy-duty belt sander/grinder designed for practical shop use, straightforward adjustment, serviceable components, and dependable performance.
Key Features
Solid Construction
Primary Shannon Precision-manufactured components are made from solid steel or billet 6061 aluminum rather than cast iron or cast aluminum.
Direct Motor Drive
The sanding belt is driven through a direct motor coupling, eliminating V-belts that can wear, slip, or require replacement.
Simple Belt Tracking
Belt tracking is adjusted with an accessible hand wheel without tedious jam-nut adjustments.
Convenient Belt Tensioning
Belt tension is adjusted with a hand wheel, without requiring a jam-nut locking arrangement.
Fast Belt Changes
The belt-release design allows the operator to release tension and remove the sanding belt without repeatedly changing the normal tension setting.
Adjustable Operating Position
The main beam can be positioned vertically, horizontally, or at intermediate angles to suit different sanding and grinding operations.
Adjustable Work Rests
Two separate work-rest platens can be adjusted from zero to 45 degrees. The main platen uses heavy solid-steel construction to help reduce part chatter.
Contact-Wheel Grinding
An eight-inch-diameter serrated rubber contact wheel supports contour grinding, hollow grinding, knife shaping, and other metal-shaping applications.
Standard Replacement Components
Purchased components are selected with serviceability in mind and can be replaced through standard industrial suppliers where applicable.
60-Inch Belt Length
The machine uses a 60-inch sanding belt, providing a useful balance between belt life, performance, and replacement-belt availability.
Versatile Shop Applications
